Chakra is a Sanskrit word meaning “Wheel of Light.” There are several chakras within the subtle framework of the body that take in and pass on universal energy throughout. Universal energy is Prana, or life force, that supports the health and wellness of the systems of the body. It is believed that the chakras are an important piece in maintaining the overall well-being of the mind, body and spirt.
Providing balance in our daily lives and relationships is needed more now than ever. Difficult circumstances, negative thinking, negative behavior patterns, chronic pain, emotional and mental stress can create imbalance in these energy centers. As a result, they become blocked, creating mental and physical imbalance in the body.
Yoga, breathing, mediation, mindfulness, and relaxation practice can all help to balance out the chakras. This at home self study program will focus on the 7 main chakras that run along the spine from the tailbone to the crown of the head, radiating outward. Learn more about the Chakras here.
Muladhara – Root Chakra
Svadisthana – Sacral Chakra
Manipura – Solar Plexis Chakra
Anahata – Heart Chakra
Vishuddha – Throat Chakra
Ajna – Third Eye
Sahasrara – Crown Chakra
